| The front gate of the Tenuta is located at
43.0212° north and 12.2755° east according to my GPS navigation
system, 43°01'16" and 12°16'32" for you
minutes-&-seconds fans, but it's probably easier to
find it on a detailed road map of Italy or Umbria (or maybe your GPS navigation system?).
Our home is roughly halfway between Florence and Rome, about 15 km (10 miles) southwest of the
center of the beautiful, ancient,
walled city of Perugia in the province of Umbria. The location is outside the village of
San Biagio della Valle (elevation 301 m or about 993 ft above sea level). The Tenuta is located in the Contado di Porto Eburnea, above the edge of the fertile Borgo
Monticelli valley, with a fantastic view of the Borgo itself, many small
villages, Perugia, and the beautiful Umbrian
countryside.

San
Biagio della Valle shares Italy's rich Roman and Etruscan heritage.
Perugia is close enough to spend an hour or a day sightseeing or viewing
the various museums and archeological displays in the old town.
Shopping and people-watching are also interesting activities there!
Other nearby towns and areas of great interest (historical, shops, wines,
food, sightseeing) are Marsciano (the equivalent of our county seat), Assisi, Todi, Orvieto, Montepulciano, and Lake Trasimeno.
There
are scheduled flights to the Perugia airport daily, and you can also
pick up a rental car there. See the page arrival
by air and rail for more information about transportation.
